close embrace
Taken a long time ago in 2008 with my Nikon D80, this was one of the first times I felt I had captured the essence of tango – the intense concentration of the close embrace.
This is a great example of how experience as a dancer changes the photographer’s perceptions and why I try so hard to learn the dances I cover. Now I have more experience as a (tango) salon dancer I’d use a completely different shot to illustrate the essence of tango. In retrospect I feel that this shot is rather cliched.
Love the mood and the colour cast. The way the frame has been filled is how shot like this should be used, bodies would have an surplus to requirments. A beautiful shot of how tango should be!
Thank you Martin, I’ll post some more similar to this in a while
