all dressed up

very young ballroom dancers performers at Harrods

I took this shot at the Harrods Tea Rooms in a special Tea Dance event in 2008 and have used it to illustrate an old controversy; about whether or not children should not be dressed in a way that makes them look so much older.

I don’t think the question has such a simple answer. I tend to feel comfortable photographing children who are comfortable in their costumes and who are obviously accompanied by parents or guardians. I wouldn’t post a shot of dancing children that bothered me, even if I was given permission to do so.
