washington trapeze artist at the old vic taverns

This is one of a series of shots from last month’s cirus party at the Old Vic Tunnels that was organised by Salida Productions. With even lower light than normal and an audience allowed anywhere (therefore often between me and whoever I was trying to shoot), this was one of my most challenging assignments.

Salida Productions held this party to raise money for a production of Macbeth using members of Circo Para Todos, an organisation that works with Colombian street kids and ultimately trains them as professional circus artists. This is Jose Hugo on the Washington Trapeze.

I keep wanting to include these under the category of ‘swing’ as those on trapeze and hoop are obviously swinging.. But won’t as it’s more about humour than accuracy.
