I’ve chosen images of this Shobana Jeyasingh Dance performance, taken in June this year and part of Big Dance 2012, because I’ve been approached about an image from one of the troupe’s earlier performances, Counterpoint, which was performed as part of Big Dance 2010. I’ve chosen images of the dancers apparently relaxed and resting on the pews because I’d like to be resting too. Just as the positions in these shots must have been both uncomfortable and difficult to sustain, so is my current workload. My unusual workload is due in part to the fact that I experienced jetlag on the way back from Miami (it’s the first time I’ve ever had jetlag, so I hadn’t planned for it) and partly because of the build up to my big charity event.

I’ve called the charity experience Going Tits Up. Coincidentally, one could say that’s the position adopted by the dancers in these images.

Life is circular.
