“From the cushion of the gale”

I’m in Thessalonki. It’s warm, thre’s barely a cloud in the sky and for the first time since before the tsunami I’m not travelling for work.

The statue in this series of images is of Sir John Betjeman and is by Martin Jennings. He was the driving force behind efforts to save the site when it was threatened by development plans in the 1960s and the title of this post is derived from one of the slate discs quoting his work that surround him.
