Monday has come around so quickly again and here’s today’s #WordyMonday photograph. The word (along with several others to which I’ll post images in the future) was suggested the marvelous Milo Miles. I wanted images that showed how two people dancing tango can get lost in the moment. If you have a flamenco background you could consider this feeling duende, although the feeling in flamenco is rarely so viscerally shared. Ms Hedgehog once described it as ‘one being with four legs’, the walls can spin or you find yourself dancing with dizzying intensity. This feeling is one reason why many tangueros are so careful of choosing dance partners and not (as those new to dancing might believe) because they’re stuck up.

I shot these photographs quite a while long time ago at the Polish Hearth Club in South Kensington. Martín holds Tango Terra milongas regularly in London’s Covent Garden and Eleonora holds a regular festival.
