Violence in any form is unacceptable. That against women can take many forms. From the insidious to the horribly blatant, it’s with us daily. It happens here in the UK as well as in places abroad. Come today! Support OBR with your presence. Join us to show the world that violence against women simply can not continue. Demonstrate that you’re willing to be counted as one who wants it to stop.

I got involved with this flashmob quite early in its organisation as I’m writing about the experience for Dance Today. Had I been allowed to exercise (my post-op no-exercise period happily ends this week) I’d have joined the flashmob itself, but as tit is I’ve ended up more involved than I had planned and am even lending my flamenco shoes to some of the dancers! The organisers, choreographers and flashmobbers themselves have been working hard, and the organisers have had some very ‘interesting’ times. Now it’s coming together nicely, we’ve even cased out our locations, so come, watch, be one of those in the know and watch out for the videos and pictures afterwards.

Here’s a sneak preview of the probable locations, however none have been confirmed yet, so check the OBR London flashmob facebook page or twitter before you go

10.00am Covent Garden Piazza
11.00am Parliament Square

You’ll still have time to do all the romantic Valentines stuff after the show, so do try to make this Valentines day different by turning up and adding your voice. And if you’re not in London check this link to see what’s happening near you. Or if (as when I just checked it) it’s not actually working, do a facebook or internet search to find a nearby event instead.
