Impedimenta for #WordyMonday

I choose this shot of Sean Graham performing in Tony Adigun‘s Illegal Dance to represent the word Impedimenta, as suggested for #WordyMonday by Eleanor because the mesh, lights and framework above are both impediments to the communication between dancer and audience and an essential part of the story.

The story portrayed by Tony Adigun’s Illegal Dance (which I’ve written before) is of a devilish dystopia where self expression through dance fusion is illegal. Totalitarian military performers are an intrinsic part of the performance. At one time they split the audience into two, bringing one set to experience Sean under the seating and the other group outside to be searched, spread-eagled and hands to the wall.
