Jorge and Maria have been dancing together for 50 years. He is still dancing after two heart attacks. He told us this after a lovely demonstration exhibiting their fun and fluid understated Villa Urquiza style at Negracha last month. This couple are some of the very few remaining teachers of the Villa Urquiza style. Characterized by its elegant walk and adornments (giros (turns), pivots, leg twists and points), it’s emblematic of what some consider the second Golden Age of tango. Jorge and Maria were transients, only in the UK for a short while. It was lovely to have the opportunity to see them perform.

Transient was suggested by Xalieri. Next week the word will be Intrinsic.
