Today I’ve used one of my shots of the largest Aboriginal dance festival in the world to denote the word transient, partly because I was visiting for such a short time but also in the way that I represented my race. During my stay I was lucky to meet and photograph people from a large number of tribes whose cultures were 60,000 years old when we Europeans first arrived in Australia. With no written tradition their stories, teachings and beliefs have been transferred through the generations through song, dance and the spoken word.

It’s not them, but us who have a culture that is scarily transient. We have so much to learn from them and so little time.
