I’ve chosen this shot of Jean Abreau in his production of ‘blood’ to represent bliss. It could indeed be that is what he was dancing but I doubt it.

The performance was inspired by The Fundamental Pictures, a series of art works by Gilbert & George created out of microscopic images of spit, urine semen blood and tears. The choreography, a series of questions and responses, showed him contorted and twisted, upright and dancing, intent and intensely concentrated on exploring how to portray what was inside him in dance. Now time has passed the aspects of choreography that made impact were when he was twisting and reaching on the floor and the way he used his hands to denote exploration of his body. He has agreed to be in my book so I just need to get that interview.

Next week I’ll be representing the word enantiomorph.
