I’m just back from shooting this, the performance is tonight. I’ve posted this shot quickly because I like the light.

I first saw this piece in Barking last year. It’s still essentially the same although some of the tweaks it now has are quite fun. What surprised me was how much richer I found it in The Place’s intimate space. This was partly because I could hear everything the dancers were saying, speaking and dancing, and because I was close enough to capture every detail of their expressions. The choreography is a blend of associated dance-pictures including various interactions of people around hypothetical places in East Ham, the Houses of Parliament and inside homes. It’s an amusingly riotous adventure that; “attacks political themes disrupting any sense of peaceful protest”.
