I went to the Opening Night of the IdeasTap Takeover at RichMix, London tonight and thought it worth sharing this piece of breaking news.

Sir Peter Bazalgette, Chair of Arts Council England announced the second Exceptional Award to be granted by Arts Council England. Called IdeasTap Inspires, it is planned to bdeliver a free national training programme 5,000 talented young people across the UK who want to build careers in the creative industries. They’ll do this thanks to a £250,000 award that will help them build a comprehensive multidisciplinrary support programme in partnership with organisations including the Royal Shakespeare Company and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.

James Mackenzie-Blackman, Executive Director of Re:Bourne, the charitable-arm of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures said: “Re:Bourne and New Adventures are thrilled to be partnering with Ideastap to discover, nurture and develop the next generation of dance-theatre artists. As a company we are passionate about discovering and developing talent that is culturally diverse and representative of communities across England. This groundbreaking programme will enable many young people and emerging artists to work with us to discover and develop a passion for dance.”
