Today’s #WordyMonday word is enervated, meaning ‘without vigour, force or strength’ or ‘languid’. I chose the image because of how I felt as I followed her up. It was right at the beginning of Encuentro Una Mirada (the first Bristol Encuentro) and while everyone else was enthusiastic, energetic and raring to go, I was merely enthusiastic and raring to go.

That was partly because of the chronic fatigue, but partly because I’ve not had a break for a very long time. Work is going from strength to strength and I’ve taken on rather more than I should. In fact I need a break so much that I’ve started making stupid mistakes (had I known a word meaning ‘needs a break’ or ‘needs a holiday’ I’d have chosen that instead of enervated).

To give you some examples; over the last few days I’ve mislaid my phone three times, put different final totals in the same invoice, brought back to London an electric lead that wasn’t mine and I never even used, found not one but two files of unprocessed images from Encuentro Una Mirada when I not only thought I had finished the processing but had told everyone who attended that I had done so, lost last Thursday (which was very alarming), got the wrong date for a photocall I was really looking forward to shooting and mis-timed movement of money between accounts incurring unnecessary charges.

Luckily I’ve been invited to Spain to spend a few days relaxing with friends next week. Unluckily I have so much work I can’t sleep for a day or take more than a few hours daily off before I go.

I apologise in advance to friends and clients alike for any other stupid things that I might do as a result!
