One Youth Dance performers congratulating their Principal, Jo Shaw and quote by Martin Luther King, (c) Carole Edrich 2014,2015

I’ve been saving this image, of some of the young One Youth Dance performers congratulating Jo Shaw on another great production, because it says so much. The quote I’ve chosen to go with it, by Martin Luther King is also very powerful; “The true measure of a person is not where they stand in times of comfort and convenience, but wehre they stand in times of challenge and controversy.”

The quote is particularly relevant now because I’m off to Oslo to write about how a group of dancers have overcome racism, and how they thrive as a result.  However Norway is a very expensive place so I need your help. Please sign on to Contributoria and support me by voting. It doesn’t take long to sign on and vote and you don’t have to pay money. If enough people support me and I get the 8,125 votes I need before April 30th, then Contributoria will commission and (more important to make this work) pay me to write about the results of my research.

Please please vote here https://www.contributoria.com/issue/2015-06/552ce3ee32ded871590000ae/proposal.
