What are you waiting for?

Quote from Balanchine and photograph of image from Crystal Pite’s the Tempest Replica
This month’s dance quote by George Balanchine (1904-1983); “What are you waiting for? What are you saving for? Now is all there is.” The intent of this was to show dancers that they should not save themselves, even in rehearsals
Balanchine preferred to call himself a craftsman rather than a creator, seeing what he did as the expression of music in the distinct art form of dance. He often compared himself to a cook or cabinet maker, both which he did as hobbies.
I will be posting a dance photograph and dance quote and a little related history every Friday this year. If you would like your favourite quote included then what are you waiting for?.
