This week the dance quote; ‘For me, prose walks, poetry dances’ is by James Broughton (1913-1999). An American poet and poetic filmmaker, in the ‘Summer of Love’ in 1967 his film The Bed was a celebration of the dance of life, breaking taboos against frontal nudity and winning many film festival prizes. Broughton’s work repeatedly explored the human body (the Godbody) and its uses for healing and peace, both for individuals and society.

I post a dance photograph and dance quote and a related fact or two every Friday. If you would like your favourite dance quote to be included let me know.
